Mainers gathered for a fast-breaking iftar dinner – August 17, 2012
Mainers gathered for a fast-breaking iftar dinner hosted by the Turkish Cultural Center Maine (TCCME) at Applewood Inn Hotel, Freeport. The program was sponsored by a local businessman Mr. Adil Yilmaz. Representatives and Senators were also present during the dinner. The program for the evening began with an introductory film about the TCC.
The call to prayer (adhan) was then sung in the hall as guests listened attentively. After the delicious Turkish Food, the program ended with guests sharing their experiences with one another over Turkish coffee.
