Turkish Cultural Center Maine and Hizmet Relief Foundation held food drive for needy families in Maine
Since its inception, Turkish Cultural Center Maine has been working to help the needy in Maine. In November, TCC Maine and Hizmet Relief distributed meat packages to more than 230 families in remembrance of the Abrahamic tradition, Feast of the Sacrifice.
Each food package contained enough meat to help a family of three to five people. Around 12 volunteers from local communities were able to distribute the donation. “This particular food drive is becoming a tradition in Maine, and it is increasing in volume every year. “We are already planning next year’s drive of a larger scale and more collaboration with
the other local organizations” said a volunteer from TCC Maine.
